THE GO FUNDY TEAM

“Anonymous Owners”

Trevor Pierce

A life long resident of Saint John and local entrepreneur, Trevor is an active partner with Go Fundy Events. Creating and expanding with his construction company has lead Trevor to expand once again. He has been successful in providing locals and visitors with great indoor dance and culinary experiences by opening a local dance club “Cougars” and the “Saint John Ale House” pub and restaurant. Trevor’s goal is to extend the fun to the great outdoors. Trevor’s not so great experience with skydiving has lead him to a direction of staying grounded (or on the water)!

David Ryan

Every company needs an idea person and David’s dedication to attracting great events to Saint John such as the 2002 East Coast Music Awards, 2004 Saint John Tall Ships and the 2006 Canadian Country Music Awards has created much excitement locally and regionally. “GROOVY GUIDES”

Danny Coates

“Slinger” has been collecting outdoor gear for years and 3 years ago took it out of the bubble wrap to join us as a guide. Danny is an experienced white water and sea kayaker of 8 years and is an avid outdoorsman. He’s easily recognizable by his shiny baldhead and his new gear and gadgets that he loves to show off. He currently is just ahead of Pete in the race to be the “ultimate gear snob” (check back regularly for updates on this ongoing duel). Danny is certified with CRCA Level II, BCU 3 Star as well as a certified water rescue technician, trained in first aid, CPR and sea and swift water rescue. He works as a professional firefighter and has recently taken up babysitting and changing diapers.

Bob Howard

A 28-year-old outdoor enthusiast trapped in a 43 year old body! A Canoeist for twenty plus years, Bob has also been racing canoes for three years. He has sea kayaked the Bay of Fundy Shores for the past eight years. This will be his second year guiding with Go Fundy Events and he has been a great addition to our team. Bob works as a professional firefighter, is a certified water and ice rescue technician, and is trained in first aid, CPR and sea kayak rescue. He enjoys scuba diving and dabbles in the culinary arts (translation: he loves to experiment with Coleman stoves and mass quantities of food…)

Famous Quote “Don’t tip the boat tip the guide”

He has built his own stitch and glue kayak and has paddled both sea and white water for the past 10 years. Pete has competed in several adventure races with great success. Peter is certified with CRCA Level II, BCU 3 Star, as well as, a certified water rescue technician, first responder and works as a professional firefighter. Pete also enjoys mountaineering, mountain biking, and hanging out with his son Zach and his golden retriever “Alex”.

Jamie Maillet

Jamie is our lead guide and has been with us for 8 years. Alex Quinn

The newest and youngest member of the team, Alex joined us this spring fresh from the St Andrews Community College with a degree in Outdoor Recreation. Alex’s team initiation went well; considering his past experience with “youth at risk” now he has become a “youth at risk” Actually, the rest of the team has welcomed Alex without incident. He can be visited on sunny days at Rockwood Park’s Fisher lakes from Thursday thru Sunday renting kayaks. He would be the guy with the bright floral shorts and the lime green flip flops…he may not be a fashion statement but he can paddle a mean kayak. Welcome to the team Alex!

Steve Voutour

Steve is the motivational speaker of the group. He loves to demonstrate his extensive knowledge of the St. John River and the Bay of Fundy, which has earned him the nickname “The Mouth of the St. John River”. He has also swallowed his share of the river having recently taken up white water kayaking in Reversing Falls. He has been paddling since 1985 and has been a guide with us for 4 years and regularly leads tours.
